Who is Martin Luther King, Jr.? Martin Luther King, Jr. was born on January 15, 1929, in Atlanta, GA. He went to Booker T. Washington High School. He was so smart that he skipped two grades in high school. He started college at only 15 years old. King got a divinity degree from Crozer Seminary and a doctorate degree from Boston University.

    King’s father was a preacher whom inspired King. He had a younger brother and older sister. He married Coretta Scott in 1953, and later he had four children: Yolanda Denise, Martin Luther 3rd, Dexter Scott, and Bernice Albertine.

    Martin Luther King, Jr. was a leader in the African-American Civil Rights Movement in our country. He made his famous speech called “ I Have a Dream” in Washington, D.C. in 1963. He was assassinated on April 4, 1968, in Memphis, TN. He got shot by James Earl Ray.

Typhoon in the Phillippines By Brenda

In the Philippines, on November 8, 2013, there was a big disaster called a typhoon. A typhoon is a tropical storm in the region of the western Pacific Oceans. Almost 5,000 people are feared dead and some 8,000 are displaced. The United States is trying to help the Philippines by donating money.

A lot of Americans are doing their best to save homeless families and the Philippines. Almost the whole United States is doing a great thing donating. The best we can do is hope. A lot of people are suffering and you can stop all this. Just go to the links below to donate and you might save a wonderful family .

Hey Bully By Kristin

     Did you know that when you bully someone, they may go home and cry, think they are weird, and don’t think they are good enough? Sometimes the person may even hurt themselves because of you bulling them. This is why you need to stop bullying. If you stop, the person would feel better about themselves again.

    I’m an 13 year old girl and I am getting bullied by my old best friend. She hits me and calls me names. It has been going on for 5 weeks. It is a nightmare and she has most of my friends hitting me because I am from Russia. They say it’s the worst country in the world. I have no friends and now I am sad. I go home and cry every day. I was thinking of making an anti-bullying project so she knows that bullying kills and that’s what I feel like doing. It already makes me feel a bit better that you’re reading this.
