How Music Affects You By Robyn

Have you ever come home so angry that your face looked like a tomato because it was so red? If so, do I have some advice for you. Yes, sometimes you need to work it out in different ways, but did you know there is a much simpler way than kicking the cat?  Just listen to music. There are many different kinds of music that can increase happiness. The first kind of music that will increase happiness is upbeat or fast tempo. This includes songs such as “Hot and Cold” by Katie Perry, “Billy Jean” by Michael Jackson, and “Locked Out of Heaven” by Bruno Mars. Other kinds of music that promote the feelings of happiness are songs written in a major key rather than a minor key. A major key is proven to lift people out of sadness or negative moods. Songs like this include “Firework” by Katie Perry, “Forget You’” by Cee Lo Green, and “The Lazy Song” by Bruno Mars.
Another way music affects you is it can help you learn things and remember what you learned. Songs tap into systems in our brains that are sensitive to beat and melody. For example, everyone knows the ABC song which is the way we all learned our letters.
For more information on how music affects your brain check out these two links. The first link is more on how music affects your mood. The second one is about how music affects your ability to learn.
