King’s father was a preacher whom inspired King. He had a younger brother and older sister. He married Coretta Scott in 1953, and later he had four children: Yolanda Denise, Martin Luther 3rd, Dexter Scott, and Bernice Albertine.
Martin Luther King, Jr. was a leader in the African-American Civil Rights Movement in our country. He made his famous speech called “ I Have a Dream” in Washington, D.C. in 1963. He was assassinated on April 4, 1968, in Memphis, TN. He got shot by James Earl Ray.
